Today marks the start of a series of summer events in our garden centres and we’re kicking things off during Dorset Arts Week with a free display in our Butterfly House until the 10th June. We will of course be following tradition with some red, white and blue displays and offers this weekend in honour of Her Majesty The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee so make sure you pop your head round the door.
We then move forward to three months of events, talks, fundraisers and promotions which will take place throughout June, July and August – a timetable of events can be viewed here.
Some highlights coming up include a talk from Joanne Harris, author of Chocolat. Joanne will be in the Butterfly House talking about her new book ‘Peaches for Monsieur le Cure’ and it is all thanks to the Sherborne Literary Society organisers of the event. We’ll then be welcoming Illyria back to our Walled Garden for performances of The Twits and Henry V, and in July the third annual Wildlife Friendly Gardening Awards will be taking place in a marquee in our Walled Garden with guest speaker and TV gardener Toby Buckland. Lots of reasons to come and see us!
We hope you all have a wonderful Jubilee weekend and we look forward to welcoming you all over the summer months.
Mike
