You may remember that a few months ago we shared some gardening tips with you from one of our customers Barbara, who worked wonders with her small front garden. Well, Barbara’s been in touch again updating us on her winter gardening activities, here she is with some advice on how to create this beautiful winter hanging basket.

‘I bought some strong green wire and made a circle out of it and then wrapped lovely dark green ivy, which had lots of long ends, around the wire. I then lined the basket with moss and planted three beautiful red cyclamen and positioned the hoop of ivy behind them.

As it is by my front door it can stand quite cold nights but I have rigged up something I can cover it with if the forecast predicts low temperatures – I think the cyclamen should last well. The whole thing looks wonderfully Christmassy and while watching a TV programme on Claridge’s Hotel in London it is all about dark green leaved plants and red cyclamen at this time of year.”
