Well, 2013 has arrived, a bit wet still but we have spring to look forward to and so all systems go at the centres. We have a huge range of seeds, seed potatoes, onion and shallot sets as well as summer flowering bulbs now at Brimsmore, Poundbury and Castle Gardens and, with the RSPB’s Big Garden Birdwatch coming up on 26th and 27th January, we’ve also got some great offers on bird food to keep your garden visitors happy right through the winter months until the weather starts to warm up. It is great to talk to the many people who come in to buy all kinds of different food for birds – one of our regular customers from Montacute says she feels as if she puts out a banquet every time she fills her bird feeders but her grandchildren love watching and it keeps them amused for hours. Starting them young is a good idea and we do all we can to encourage that too.

The first of our orchid workshops starts at Brimsmore Gardens on 26th January – and we’ve got local garden designer and willow artist Angela Morley back in the Butterfly House at Castle Gardens from Friday 18th for the very popular willow workshops; see in centre for a booking form.

As well as thinking ahead, we’ve loved seeing so many of you as you catch the bargains at our Christmas clearance sale and don’t miss our huge store room sale which starts from 25th January.

See you soon

Mike
