You may have noticed the giant plant pots that have appeared outside Poundbury Gardens in recent weeks. They are now planted up with olive trees and are providing a grand entrance to The Engine Room Restaurant on the edge of Queen Mother Square. Each pot is more than 2 cubic metres and it took a staggering 190 bags of John Innes compost to fill them, which was kindly supplied by Westland Horticulture. On Friday 13 May, we were delighted to show the pots to HRH The Prince of Wales, who stopped by to admire them during his visit to Poundbury, which is a Duchy of Cornwall development. We are pleased to report that he was suitably impressed with our new addition to the garden centre and even took the time to wish us a happy birthday in our 10th year.
