Photojournalist and war reporter, Lalage Snow, will be sharing the award-winning photography from her latest book, War Gardens, at Castle Gardens on Thursday 6 December. A culmination of seven years’ work while living in Kabul and travelling around Asia and the Middle East, these images, which have been exhibited at The Garden Museum in London and the Sydney Opera House, show the gardens that people have created in the pursuit of calm, when living alongside conflict and life’s continuing pressures.

Taking place in The Butterfly House from 7:30pm, this special evening promises to take the audience on a journey through this century’s conflicts in places such as Afghanistan, Ukraine and the West Bank and the gardens found within these war-torn countries, examining war through the personal stories of those living through it.

Tickets cost £5 per person, which includes refreshments in The Walled Garden Restaurant. Advanced booking is essential and tickets can be purchased from Winstone’s Books on Cheap Street, Sherborne and Castle Gardens on New Road in Sherborne.
