Work with us

Plant Care Team Member at Castle Gardens, Sherborne

We’re looking for a friendly, enthusiastic person to join our Plant Care Team at Castle Gardens.
This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days are the same. Depending on the season, you’ll care for different plants across the garden centre. That could mean you are working in the bedding team in Spring, be outdoors with the hardy plants team in summer, find yourself indoors with the houseplant team when they need support, or even donning a Santa hat in the Christmas tree department in December! As priorities change throughout the days and months, you’ll be happy to switch between tasks and get stuck in wherever needed. Alongside plant care, you’ll maintain our inspiring displays, help customers, replenish stock and support the wider team to keep our award-winning centre looking its best.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has an interest in plants and wants to positively contribute to the continued success of our popular garden centre
  • Previous experience is helpful but not essential, as we believe that a can-do attitude and willingness to learn is more valuable
  • Enjoys assisting customers, and is keen to deliver the highest standards of customer service
  • Is adaptable, reliable, willing to learn, and a supportive team player
  • Thrives in a busy, quality-focused environment
  • Takes pride in doing a great job
  • Full training, including till training, will be provided. Staff benefit from a discount at all three of our sites and their adjoining restaurants, or farm shops

28 – 36.5 hours per week
Permanent position – 4 days per week (09.00-16.30), plus every other Saturday (09.00-18.00)

Please send your CV and cover letter to sarah@thegardensgroup.co.uk
Closing date Monday 6 August 2026
