Many gardeners will have used peat for a number of years as an effective part of their gardening practice, however the extraction of peat has considerable implications for wildlife and the environment, so as conscious gardeners we need to find alternatives to help our gardens grow. As this may be a daunting prospect for keen gardeners, who have always relied on peat to grow their showstopping plants, next week we will be dedicating our free talks to exploring more environmentally friendly options.

Starting at 2:30pm, the free talks will explain the environmental impact of extracting peat, while delving into the details of more wildlife and environmentally friendly products that can still reap similar rewards.

Exploring peat free alternatives:
Tuesday 25 February – Brimsmore Gardens
Wednesday 26 February – Poundbury Gardens
Thursday 27 February – Castle Gardens
