Head of horticulture and agroforestry at the Soil Association, Ben Raskin will explain how woodchip is more than a simple mulch, as he shares excerpts from his latest release, The Woodchip Handbook at Castle Gardens on Thursday 25 November at 6:30pm.
With soil improvement, drainage and temperature control among the benefits to be discovered through practical research from around the world, Ben will provide tips on how to source and use woodchip successfully in the garden.
Doors open at 6:30pm and free refreshments will be provided by The Walled Garden Restaurant, before the event starts at 7:30pm.
The Woodchip Handbook, the first and only complete guide to sourcing and using woodchip, is out on Thursday 4 November and will be on sale at the event.
