Author event in The Butterfly House at Castle Gardens, Tuesday 17 May at 7pm

Transporting the audience to Regency London, where ballrooms are more like battlegrounds, author, Sophie Irwin will discuss her debut novel, A Lady’s Guide to Fortune Hunting at Castle Gardens on Tuesday 17 May.

Sophie, who is Mike and Louise’s daughter, will talk about her years immersed in studying historical fiction and the time spent working through dusty stacks and old tomes when carrying out period research for this book. The evening will celebrate the launch of this deliciously entertaining and sassy novel about women’s self-advancement in the 19th Century and will include a book signing.

In association with Winstone’s Books, this special event will take place in The Butterfly House from 7pm. Tickets cost £2 and are available to purchase at Winstone’s Books in Sherborne and at Castle Gardens. Doors open at 6:30pm and free refreshments will be provided by The Walled Garden Restaurant.
