As sponsors of The Stations in Bloom project, Castle Gardens hosted the South Western Railway (SWR) ‘Stations in Bloom’ competition awards ceremony last week. Following a summer of judging where the stations were marked for their floral displays, positive environmental impact and community engagement, 32 awards were presented by Claire Mann, managing director of SWR.

Each participating railway station was rewarded in some way for their efforts, which included wildlife friendly, community and volunteer initiatives. The awards recognise the hard and dedicated work of the volunteers and staff for their work on making stations a more inviting place.

We were really impressed with how these stations are taking care of their little patch of the planet and look forward to seeing what next year brings.
